Merry Christmas J127 Ministry!

Dear James 1:27 Servants,   Thank you all so much for your love for Christ show through your love for orphans and children in need!  Sonia and I have been so encouraged to see God blessing and growing this ministry each year through your faithful ministry.   We have a small Christmas gift for each of you that you will be receiving this Sunday - a book called Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches, by Russell Moore.   I believe that this is very possibly the best book ever written on adoption.  Pastor Moore, in a very humble and raw way, shares how his own experience adopting 2 boys from Russia profoundly transformed his understand of the Gospel and his own salvation.  He gets to the heart of the many barriers people have toward adoption by revealing his own hesitancies and how the Gospel challenged him - and ultimately changed his perspective.   I'm hopeful that this book - and the ideas in it - will be used by God to continue to develop our love for orphans (specifically, by helping us see the amazing opportunity that adoption is) and to better equip us to minister to the saints at CBC.   Hope you enjoy reading it.   Have a wonderful Christmas.     In Christ's love, mike
